When I started this twitter/tumblr thing back in November, it really was on a whim. I wanted to get involved in the LA beer community and I saw cask as a bit of a hole in the market. So I jumped in with both feet and the immediate response really drove me to keep going with something that could have easily just fallen by the wayside as the holidays got busier and busier.
One of the first people to follow me was Greg Nagel (OCBeerBlog), who was quick to alert me of the event he was planning – FirkFest – which clearly was right up my alley. It was still in the planning stages at the time, but as of 2014, the date has been announced (March 22nd), tickets are for sale and the breweries have been named – and what a lineup it is:
Bottle Logic Brewing / Valiant Brewing Company / Tustin Brewing / Stone Brewing Co. / Smog City Brewing Co. / Saint Archer Brewing Co. / Pizza Port Brewing Co. / Noble Aleworks / Mission Brewery / Coachella Valley Brewing Co. / Eagle Rock Brewery / Firestone Walker / Golden Road Brewing / Hangar 24 / Karl Strauss / LA Aleworks / Left Cost Brewing Co. / Cismontane Brewing Company / The Bruery / Bravery Brewing / Bootleggers Brewery / Beach City Brewer / Ballast Point Brewing / Anaheim Beer / Beachwood Brewing / Taps
Are you f’ing kidding me?
Recently the event changed locations to Farmer’s Park in Anaheim and really it couldn’t be a better spot. Who doesn’t want to spend a day outside drinking delicious, small batch, real ales?
I’m hoping to get some more coverage of the event up on here leading up to the day, but until then, he’s the info:
